Agnes' Bunch Direct Family Line

Agnes Irene Dark was born 30 May 1923 at Walnut Grove, Smith County, Texas.  She passed away on 23 Mar 2006 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Smith County, Texas.  She married James Clinton Roycroft on 15 Oct 1938 at Bascom Community, Smith County, Texas.  Agnes and JC are both buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Smith County, Texas.  Agnes and JC had 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter).  JC was retired from Tyler Pipe.  He also loved to garden and travel to Branson Missouri to see the shows.  He played in the musical group the "Rose City Ramblers."

 Agnes was the child of Laura Mae Bunch born 11 Nov 1887 at Dawson, Navarro County, Texas died at Smith County, Texas  on 24 Jan 1970 and her husband  David Lanier Dark born 11 Oct 1883 at Smith County, Texas died at Tyler, Smith County, Texas on 16 Dec 1905.  They were married on 10 Aug 1903 in Whitehouse, Smith County, Texas.  David and Laura are both buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Smith County, Texas.

Laura was the child of Perry Bunch born 9 Aug 1856 at Whelen Springs, Clark County, Arkansas and died at Pasadena, Harris County, Texas on 6 Aug 1952 and his wife Nancy Olive "Della" Robertson born 1 Mar 1861 in Tennessee and died at Marshall, Texas on 23 Feb 1927.  They were married on 5 Jan 1879 in Dawson, Texas. 

Perry was the child of Jesse Hamilton Bunch born 29 Dec 1819 at Whelen Springs, Clark County, Arkansas and died 24 Feb 1912 in Adamsville, Lampassas County, Texas.  The story of Jesse's death is that he fell when he was 92 from a rawhide bottom chair where he had climbed to secure his gun from over the door.  He planned to shoot a chaparral that had been bothering his fowl.  He weighed two hundred pounds and the chair heaved and the gun fell.  As the gun fell it accidentaly discharged and fatally struck Jesse.  At the time of his death he weighed 250 pounds and was about 6'3" tall.  Jesse is buried in Groves Cemetery in Lampassas County, Texas.  He was married about 4 times, but Perry's mother we believe was Mary Cates born 1824 and died in 1856 at age 32.  She is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in Gurdon, Arkansas.

Jesse was the child of David W. Bunch born about 1792 in Virginia and died about 1850 in Clark County, Arkansas and his wife Heister Midkiff born about 1796 in Grainger County, Tennessee and died about 1860 in Clark County, Arkansas.  They were married 24 Sep 1817 in Grainger County, Tennessee.
